MELBOURNE, Australia: Cricket Australia (CA) on Tuesday confirmed that the Australian men’s team will tour Pakistan for a white-ball series in early 2026 to strengthen bilateral cricketing ties.

The confirmation was made by CA Chief Executive Officer Todd Greenberg during an online press conference.

“I believe it will be another good tour of Pakistan. The series is an important part of our schedule,” Greenberg said, while reaffirming CA’s commitment to its ongoing partnership with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

He noted that discussions between the two boards had been constructive and ongoing. “There has been good communication between Pakistan and Australia regarding both red-ball and white-ball series. We need to look for more opportunities to play each other, which we certainly will,” he added.

According to the International Cricket Council’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025–27, Australia are scheduled to visit Pakistan in February–March 2026 for a white-ball series comprising three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The last bilateral series between the sides was held in November 2024, when Pakistan toured Australia.

Under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan claimed a historic 2-1 victory in the ODI series—their first series win in Australia since 2002. However, Australia bounced back to clean sweep the T20I series 3-0.

Greenberg also reflected on Australia’s landmark tour of Pakistan in 2022, which was their first visit in 24 years.

“In 2022, we toured Pakistan after a long gap and were given a very warm welcome. It would be fantastic to continue such tours,” he said.

Greenberg also spoke about the participation of Pakistani players in Australia’s domestic T20 competition, the Big Bash League (BBL). He expressed hope that top Pakistani players would feature in future editions of the league.

“There is no doubt Pakistani players are very popular within the community. If top Pakistani players come, they will definitely enjoy it here, and the league will benefit immensely from their presence,” Greenberg remarked.

He confirmed CA’s intention to attract leading international talent to the BBL, including from Pakistan. “Our effort is to attract players from all over the world for the BBL. I hope we will definitely attract some players for the next edition,” he said.
