Key points
- India has claimed destroying 20pc of PAF infrastructure
- Indian publications relied on claims lacking corroborative evidence
- Pakistan has consistently urged dialogue and diplomatic engagement
ISLAMABAD: India’s recent claims regarding the purported destruction of 20 per cent of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) infrastructure during “Operation Sindoor” are not only grossly exaggerated but also serve as a glaring example of disinformation aimed at bolstering domestic narratives.
Even Indian defence analyst Ajai Sahni has dismissed these claims as “outright ludicrous,” emphasising that no core PAF assets were compromised.
“India’s claim that it destroyed 20 per cent of PAF infrastructure is not just exaggerated — it’s a ludicrous claim. There was no destruction of any core asset”, says Ajai Sahni, India’s Defence Analyst in an interview with India You Tube channel, Wire.

Unnamed official sources
The Indian Express reported extensive damage to PAF bases, including Bholari and Sargodha, citing unnamed official sources. However, these claims have been contested by various analysts and lack corroborative evidence.
Furthermore, the Pakistani government has consistently advocated for peace and stability in the region, urging dialogue and diplomatic engagement over military confrontation, according to the Express Tribune.
The dissemination of inflated and unverified claims by Indian sources only serves to undermine efforts toward lasting peace.
The narrative propagated by Indian media regarding the alleged decimation of PAF infrastructure lacks substantiation and appears to be a strategic move to divert attention from internal challenges.
