RAWALPINDI: The fifth and final day of the Rawalpindi Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh is proving to be a challenging one for the Pakistani side. As play resumes, Pakistan has lost six wickets, scoring 108 runs, while Bangladesh holds a narrow lead of 9 runs at lunch break.

Pakistan’s innings began with a setback as Saeem Ayub was dismissed for 23 runs. Captain Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafiq were at the crease, but their partnership was short-lived. Masood was caught out after contributing 14 runs. Babar Azam also fell victim to the bowling attack, being bowled out for 22 runs.

Saud Shakeel, who had hoped to make a significant impact, was stumped for zero after attempting an ambitious shot. Abdullah Shafiq managed 37 runs before being caught out. The next blow came when Agha Salman was dismissed for a duck, adding to Pakistan’s woes.

Currently, Mohammad Rizwan (21) and Shaheen Shah Afridi are batting, trying to stabilize the innings and prevent further loss of wickets. The team’s situation remains precarious as they aim to chase down Bangladesh’s total and avoid defeat.

The match has been closely contested, with Bangladesh’s first-innings total of 565 runs putting them in a strong position. Despite Pakistan’s efforts to close the gap, Bangladesh’s substantial lead has created pressure. The final session promises to be crucial as both teams vie for a decisive result.

The outcome of this Test will be pivotal for both sides, with Pakistan seeking to avoid a defeat and Bangladesh looking to consolidate their advantage.
