LAHORE: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has said that implementation of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project is continuing at a fast pace.
He was talking to a seven-member delegation of journalists in Lahore on Sunday, who had just returned to Pakistan after visiting China at the invitation of the China Public Diplomacy Association.
The Prime Minister said he is personally monitoring the progress on Memorandums of Understanding and agreements with China, after his recent trip to Beijing.
He said after a recent visit of Chinese experts to Pakistan, significant progress has been made on the bilateral cooperation in various areas. He said all possible measures are being taken for the security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
“It is our responsibility to provide security to the people of China and all institutions are on the same page in this regard,” said the PM.

Shehbaz Sharif went on to say there should be no politics on the longstanding ties with friendly countries like China. “We achieved several targets during my recent visit to China,” said the prime minister.
He added that a large number of Chinese companies will soon invest in Pakistan. The delegation briefed the prime minister regarding the success of China’s visit.
