LAHORE: TV anchor Ayesha Jahanzeb has rejected reports of reconciliation with her husband and announced her decision to file for divorce in court.

Ayesha Jahanzeb had appeared in a local Lahore court with her lawyer to record a statement in a domestic abuse case. She stated that what happened to her was very cruel and that no woman should have to bear such treatment. She expressed her respect for the decision of the community elders but added that she did not wish to pursue the case further.

However, in a recent interview with the Geo News, Ayesha Jahanzeb dismissed the rumors of reconciliation with her husband, stating unequivocally, “I have not reconciled with my husband.”

The TV host added that she does not want her children to be dragged through court proceedings and will file for divorce on Monday. She also added that the custody of her children will remain with her.

On July 10, Ayesha Jahanzeb filed a case against her husband at Sarwar Road Police Station, Lahore accusing him of physical torture.

Later, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz took notice of the matter and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
