RAWALAKOT: Speakers at a youth moot held in Rawalakot to commemorate the 8th martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Wani, called for continued solidarity and support for the Kashmiri cause, urging the youth to remain informed and active in their pursuit of justice and freedom.
During the moot, they highlighted Wani’s pivotal role in injecting new hope among the Kashmiri youth during his life and after his martyrdom.
The event was organized by the Institute of Multi-Track Diplomacy, Dialogue, and Development Studies, in collaboration with PG College Rawalakot in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The event attracted a large audience and featured influential speakers who paid rich tribute to Wani’s enduring legacy.
Speakers stressed that Burhan Wani, the 4th generation hero of the resistance against Indian occupation, effectively used social media to propagate the freedom struggle of Kashmir.
Dr. Zafar in his speech, emphasised the profound impact of Wani’s sacrifices and life. He highlighted the broader implications of Wani’s actions on Kashmiri youth and the global community’s perspective on the Kashmir cause. Dr. Zafar called for continued solidarity and support for the Kashmiri cause, asking the youth to remain active and informed in their pursuit of freedom and justice.
Political commentator Dr. Waleed Rasool gave an in-depth analysis of Burhan Wani’s role in the freedom movement of Kashmir. He illustrated how Wani’s individual actions significantly influenced historical events. He emphasized that Wani’s message resonated deeply across generations.
Professor Mumtaz stressed the significance of unity and strategic efforts, urging the Kashmiri people to harness their collective strength to achieve their objectives peacefully. He also brought attention to the problem of Hurriyat leadership, detailing their suffering and perseverance in Indian jails.
