ISLAMABAD: The UN Security Council strongly condemned Friday’s terrorist attack on Pakistan’s embassy in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, that targeted the country’s Head of Mission. The UNSC called to make sure the safety and security of diplomatic and consular premises in Afghanistan.
The UN Security Council also wished a speedy and complete recovery to the embassy security guard who sustained critical injuries in the attack.
The UNSC, in a statement, underscored the need for identifying and bringing the attack’s perpetrators to justice.
UNSC Calls on Concern Parties to Ensure Security of Diplomatic Missions
“The UN Security Council called on all concerned parties to ensure and respect the security and safety of consular and diplomatic premises and personnel of UN Member States,” the statement added.
“The members of the Security Council stressed the need to hold organizers, financiers, sponsors, and perpetrators, of these reprehensible terrorism acts accountable and take action against them as per law.”
