UK-Pakistan Chamber for Exploring Untapped Trade Potential

LAHORE: UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Vice President Ishtiaq Ahmad on Sunday stressed the need to explore the untapped trade potential among Pakistan, Britain, and Kyrgyzstan.

He was speaking at a reception held by him in honour of the newly appointed honorary consul of Kyrgyzstan Meher Kashif Younis.

Ishtiaq Ahmad underlined the promising opportunities for trilateral cooperation and economic collaboration among the three nations, which offer attractive investment climate with potential energy, agriculture, tourism sectors, infrastructure development, cross-border investments, and exchange of educational deliberations can stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and foster innovation.

Need of Exploiting Untapped Opportunities in Investment, Trade Emphasized

He said that by seizing the untapped opportunities in investment, trade, and cultural exchange, all three countries can embark on a path of mutual prosperity and development.

He added that it is important for business leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to work together in realizing the shared vision of a stronger and more dynamic partnership.

On this occasion, Meher Kashif Younis said that Britain, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan share a history of diplomatic ties and have been maintaining cordial relations over the years, however, there remains significant untapped potential in different sectors including trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

Meher Kashif Younis said that he believed that by leveraging these opportunities, the three countries can benefit immensely and strengthen their mutual ties as they possess complementary economies with diverse goods and services to offer.

By fostering trade partnerships and eliminating trade barriers, the economies could be boosted and new avenues for business growth could be created, he argued.

He added that people-to-people contacts and cultural exchange are also vital for strengthening the bond between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
