SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has voiced deep concern over the dire situation prevailing in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), citing the deprivation of fundamental rights by Indian forces.

The APHC spokesman told the media in Srinagar that the people of the region are suffering horribly under the constant threat of war. He lamented the suppression of free speech, the arbitrary detentions, house raids by Indian troops, paramilitary groups like the NIA and SIA, and the denial of basic rights by these groups. He also claimed that more than a million Indian troops had invaded the region, turning it into a vast, terrible prison.

Despite facing immense challenges, the spokesman praised the resilience of the Kashmiri people in resisting various military operations and clandestine tactics aimed at suppressing their struggle for self-determination. He emphasized that such systematic oppression has only served to strengthen the Kashmiri resistance movement against Indian occupation.

Highlighting the people’s legitimate demand for self-determination, the spokesman urged the United Nations to address the ongoing state terrorism in Kashmir and take concrete measures to halt human rights violations and genocide in the region.

Asserting that the Kashmir dispute remains a grave threat to global peace and stability, the spokesman underscored the need for the UN to intervene and take serious action to settle the Kashmir dispute as per its resolutions, recognizing the sacrifices made by the people of Kashmir in their quest for freedom.
