Cambodian Prime Minister Tests Covid-19 Positive

He hosts over a dozen world leaders.

Hun Sen said on Tuesday he tested positive for Covid-19 when he hosted more than a dozen world leaders including US President Joe Biden at a meeting in Phnom Penh.

Asia’s longest-serving leader said in a Facebook post that he tested positive when he arrived in Indonesia for the G20 summit, but there was no sign. Hun Sen held an open-air meeting with leaders from eight Southeast Asian countries as well as the United States, China, Japan, Australia, and Canada during the Southeast Asian Nations Summit, which ended on Sunday.

“My dear people! Now I have tested positive for Covid-19,” he wrote on Facebook, saying that he was tested every day, including before flying to the G20 in Bali, and the results were negative. He said it was a “good thing” he arrived early in Bali and missed dinner with the other leaders.
