ATHENS: A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Greece on Friday at 8;26 a.m. local time at a shallow depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), the German Research Center for Geosciences said.

The exact magnitude, epicentre, and depth of the earthquake may be subject to revision in the coming hours or minutes as seismologists analyze data and fine-tune their calculations. Additionally, other agencies may issue their reports.

Based on the initial seismic data, it is likely that the earthquake was felt by many individuals in the vicinity of the epicentre. However, it is not anticipated to have caused significant damage beyond minor incidents like objects falling from shelves and broken windows.
