RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for the right to self-determination as the Israeli military continued bombardment on the besieged Gaza Strip.

This stance was reiterated during the 260th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), chaired by Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir in General Headquarters Rawalpindi, the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release.

“The military top brass expressed deep concern over the situation taking place in the Palestine-Israel war and the enormous human cost being imposed on the innocent civilians due to the disproportionate use of force by Israel,” ISPR stated in the press release.

Israel has been conducting airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and is preparing for a potential ground invasion in response to the Hamas attack on October 7, an attempt to liberate Palestinian territories from occupied forces. Since then, the Israeli forces continuously bombed civilian buildings in the Gaza Strip in which more than 28000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, were martyred.

“The Palestinian people have unequivocal diplomatic, moral, and political support of the Pakistani nation, and we will continue to support the principled stance of our brethren for enduring resolution of the Palestinian issue and end to the unlawful occupation of their territories and Muslims’ sacred places,” said General Asim Munir.

Gaza is facing a severe crisis with dwindling food and water supplies. Hospitals are operating on generators after Israel cut off the electricity supply to the area, which is home to 2.3 million people. In response to the humanitarian tragedy, the Pakistani government has decided to send relief assistance to Gaza, as announced by the Foreign Office.

Pakistan Army Backs Deportation of Illegal Immigrants

In addition to the Gaza issue, the interim federal government has decided to deport all illegal immigrants by November 1, citing increased involvement of Afghan nationals in terror activities, including 14 out of 24 suicide bombings this year. The CCC expressed full support for this decision, and General Munir instructed all relevant authorities to ensure a dignified and safe repatriation or deportation process for illegal foreigners.

The meeting also addressed illegal economic activities and emphasized the Pakistan Army’s commitment to supporting lawful actions against such practices. It stressed the need to take strong actions against hoarding and smuggling mafias and cartels, with the goal of eliminating their negative impact on the country.

The conference paid homage to the martyrs of various incidents and commended the sacrifices made by security forces and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism. The military forum vowed to deal firmly with all terrorists, their facilitators, and collaborators acting on behalf of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan.

The participants were briefed on the prevailing geo-strategic environment and the nation’s security challenges, as well as Pakistan’s strategy in response to evolving threats. The forum reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all forms of direct and indirect threats. It also pledged full support for the government’s strategic initiatives aimed at revitalizing the economy and improving the well-being of the people.

COAS emphasized: “Pakistan Army will continue to provide all-out support to the government and LEAs in taking strict lawful actions against illegal economic activities across the country. Actions against hoarding and smuggling mafias and cartels in different domains will be further strengthened in coming days to rid the country from the negative impact of such ill practices.”

General Munir emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism and motivation during operations and achieving excellence in the training of military formations.
