PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron has called for a “ruthless” government response to individuals with terrorist ideologies in the wake of a recent teacher’s murder, which he labeled an “act of Islamist terror.”
Macron’s directives aim for action against those who harbor hate and terrorist ideologies. The President has instructed the police to review files on radicals who could potentially be deported from France to prevent any oversight. Additionally, he has advised the interior minister to adopt a “special approach to young men between the ages of 16-25 from the Caucasus.” This renewed focus on countering radicalization seeks to enhance national security.
