ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education Islamabad has been awarded the 2023 UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education.
According to a statement on Friday, the Prize’s international jury termed the school as an excellent example of a highly effective initiative that is changing mindsets on girls’ and women’s right to education.

The Prize is awarded to those individuals, institutions, and organizations who make significant contributions to girls’ and women’s education and showcase successful projects in the field.
The award comprises an appreciation and US $50,000 to further enhance the project’s work.
The award ceremony was held on Thursday in Beijing in the presence of DG UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay.
