RAWALPINDI: An operation was conducted by security forces in the Tirah Valley of the Khyber District on the night of September 25th to 26th, based on intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists in the region, said the ISPR.
During the operation, there was a significant exchange of gunfire between the security forces and the terrorists. As a result of this exchange, three terrorists were killed, including a prominent figure referred to as “Terrorist Commander Kifayat,” also known as “Tor Adnan.” Kifayat was actively involved in numerous terrorist activities, which included targeting both Law Enforcement Agencies and innocent civilians, according to the ISPR.
Following the operation, security forces are currently engaged in the process of “sanitizing” the area. This term refers to a thorough search and clearance operation aimed at identifying and eliminating any other terrorists who may still be present in the area.
The determination of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate terrorism underscores their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the region by taking action against those involved in terrorist activities, said the ISPR further.
