MIRPUR: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq on Sunday said that besides encouraging sports activities, the sports department would provide all possible support in promoting sports at all levels across the state.
While talking to a delegation led by All Azad Kashmir Hockey Association (AAKHA) President Raja Mushtaq and Gulf Empire Chairperson Sardar Shahzeb, in the federal metropolis, the PM said that sports are not only a source of entertainment but they help to improve physical and mental health, quality of life and wellbeing.
AJK PM Highlights Sports’ Importance
He said that sports play a vital role in establishing a healthy society. It brings positive changes in young people and fosters an atmosphere of competition.
The PM said that playing sports helps children learn discipline and channel negative feelings in a positive way. Kashmiri youth are very talented and they have proved their mettle in every field of life.
Earlier, President AAKHA Raja Mushtaq and Sardar Shahzeb briefed the Prime Minister about the All AJK Hockey Tournament and Nawab Jassi Khan Football Tournament being held at Rawlakot and requested him to provide necessary support in this regard.
The PM directed the sports secretary to provide all necessary assistance to the organizers to make sure that both events were held successfully.
