PESHAWAR: The City Capital Police on Tuesday enhanced security measures across the provincial capital following the special instructions of CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar.
Ashfaq Anwar appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement and security personnel stationed at checkpoints and during random inspections to uphold peace within the city.
According to SP Cantt Waqas Rafiq, the divisional SPs and various police units were deployed to oversee the inspection procedures at roadblocks. Police officers were instructed to take decisive action against vehicles with tinted windows, unregistered vehicles, and instances of riding with a pillion passenger.
Ababeel Squad and City Patrolling officials were providing support to the police at checkpoints and designated inspection locations spread across different parts of the city. Notably, scrutiny extended to individuals arousing suspicion and undocumented Afghan refugees.
