Warrant Issued to Arrest Indian Citizen in Connection with Pager Blasts in Lebanon

OSLO: Norwegian police said that Indian citizen Rinson Jose was allegedly involved in the pager explosions in Lebanon. BBC reported that the company owned by Indian citizen had allegedly supplied the pagers to Hezbollah, which killed 38 people and left more than 3000 injured in Lebanon.

Reports suggest the pagers, which had reportedly been modified by Israel to hide three grams of explosives in each device. However, Israel did not issue any comment over the matter.

Police in Norway stated that they have opened an investigation against the Indian citizen and also issued warrant to arrest Rinson Jose. The police said that they have found the information about a person allegedly involved in pager blasts.  Reports said that the Indian citizen went missing after the pager explosion in Lebanon. Rinson Jose visited Boston, US in connection of his work but did not return.

BBC reported that when the Indian citizen was contacted to take his view over the explosions in blast, he declined to comment and disconnected his phone.

According to the media report, the Norwegian-owned firm Norta Global is registered in Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia. So far, the case’s clues point to Taiwan, Hungary, Bulgaria, and, now Norway.

Earlier this week, a Hungarian news report suggested that Sofia-based Norta Global was involved in the sale of pagers to Hezbollah.

According to reports, the pagers belong to Gold Apollo, a Taiwanese company, but they were manufactured by BAC Consulting, a Hungarian company, but were allegedly supplied by Norta Global.

Who is Rinson Jose?

Rinson Jose migrated to Norway from Kerala, India. Indian media cited local officials as saying that security measures have been taken around his home in India. According to local media, the two brothers studied in Bangalore and then shifted to Norway ten years ago.

Norta Global, set up by Rinson Jose, declared a revenue of $ 725,000 for consulting activities outside the Europe last year.
