Voters to Elect Their Representatives in Southwest Pakistan Today

QUETTA: The voting process is continuing for the local bodies’ elections in Balochistan, Pakistan as voters have started pouring into their respective polling stations to elect their representatives.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the first phase of local bodies’ polls is being held in district Lasbela, Hub and Municipal Committee, Haramzai of district Pashin, Balochistan. The polling started at 8:00 a.m. and will continue till 5:00 p.m. without any break.  The ECP has already finalized all required arrangements.

Public representatives in Balochistan

According to the official of ECP, there are a total of 272,323 registered voters in these two districts of Balochistan, with 153,236 men and 119,087 women voters. Total 259 polling stations and 690 polling booths were set up to facilitate the voters during the polling. While, 6,151 men and 4,739 women voters will choose their representatives for municipal committee, Haramzai, Pishin, District of the province.  272,323 registered voters 272,323 registered voters. Reports said that 13 polling stations and 30 polling booths have been constituted for holding polls in municipal committed, Haramzai. A total of 79 candidates are taking part in  local body polls in municipal committee, Haramzai.
