The historic connections between the United Arab Emirates and Japan were strengthened through the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding presided over by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the UAE and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan.
According to Emirates News Agency on Monday, the signatures took place in Abu Dhabi during the prime minister’s official visit to the UAE.
The agreements were signed by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Japan’s Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihiko Isozaki, expanding on the UAE-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership declared the previous year.
Agriculture and fishing, tourism, education, peaceful space operations, and energy security are only few of the areas addressed by the agreements.
In addition to the joint statement on climate action, the two parties also signed a joint declaration of intent for the establishment of an energy security and industry accelerator.
