WASHINGTON: Former President Donald Trump suggested Sunday that the White House’s official line on the recent cocaine fiasco isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Trump, 77, expressed surprise that the Secret Service could not identify a suspect after an 11-day probe into cocaine found in the West Wing earlier this month.

“Do you know how many cameras they have opposite the Situation Room’s front door?” Trump discussed the topic on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“I’ve gotten to know the Secret Service really well, and I can’t speak more highly of these people — they are incredible people,” Trump added. “I believe they know everything; they’re extremely intelligent and skilled at what they do.”

Last Thursday, the Secret Service said that their investigation into the cocaine package discovered in the White House had been “closed due to a lack of physical evidence.”

The Secret Service stated it was unable to identify a suspect due to a lack of fingerprints or DNA evidence.

According to the Secret Service, the narcotics stockpile was discovered on July 2 during a regular sweep of the foyer near the White House’s executive entrance.

Investigators told members of Congress during a briefing last week that the cocaine was discovered by the basement door to the West Wing, one story below the Oval Office and steps from the Situation Room, after some early conflicting claims.

“I don’t think it’s possible for bags of cocaine to be left in a certain area, in the Situation Room,” Trump stated on Sunday. “I’m not talking about the Situation Room, which is five blocks away, where you decide on war, where you decide on nuclear.”

Notably, the Situation Room has been closed for repairs for some weeks, according to White House sources.

“This review included a backwards examination that spanned several days prior to the substance’s discovery and developed an index of several hundred individuals who may have accessed the area where the substance was found,” the Secret Service stated.

Despite the vestibule’s proximity to the Situation Room, the agency claims that cameras were unable to detect the drug or determine how long it had been there.

President Biden had left for Camp David approximately two days before the cocaine was discovered, accompanied by members of his family, including his son Hunter, who has been outspoken about his own drug addiction difficulties in the past.

According to pool accounts, Hunter Biden was seen at the White House on the Friday before the drug was discovered.

The White House exploded when The Washington Post asked if any members of the Biden family owned the cocaine.

The Secret Service also discovered minor amounts of marijuana in the White House last year.

Some veteran investigators have raised concerns about the cocaine investigation.

The Post reached out to a Secret Service representative for comment on Trump’s claims.
