PESHAWAR: The Order of the Pen (TOOP), a literary organization, is making significant strides in uniting literature and writers worldwide, providing a platform to showcase and recognize their creative endeavours.
Founded by Noman, an M.Phil degree holder in English Literature, TOOP serves as an online hub for both amateur and professional artists, fostering a community where individuals can learn, celebrate, and share diverse written compositions.
Noman shared that TOOP not only offers an online platform but also hosts events to display and encourage artistic work. In a short period, TOOP has garnered over four hundred thousand members globally, with registrations from countries like the USA, UK, Egypt, Australia, and India. Recognizing its impact, Facebook selected TOOP for its Community Accelerator Program 2022, placing it among 145 communities worldwide.
As part of its expansion, TOOP is venturing into digital platforms to engage more artists interested in showcasing their work, particularly in short filmmaking. The National Incubation Center, Peshawar (NIC), incubated TOOP in its 11th cohort, acknowledging its promising contribution to the artistic community.
Since March 2023, TOOP has organized various events and art displays, including an art exhibition at NIC Peshawar in November 2023. This exhibition brought together writers, painters, poets, and students from different universities, fostering an environment of creativity and recognition. Prizes were awarded to distinction holders, and the organization’s impact has been amplified through a team of volunteers and ambassadors from 18 institutes in Peshawar.
TOOP extends support to aspiring artists by offering cash prizes, internships, and guidance on showcasing their artwork on different platforms. Noman expressed the management’s vision to make TOOP the world’s largest literary organization, providing representation to artists globally and promoting literary work on a grand scale.
