ISLAMABAD: In a heartfelt cultural gesture marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China, the China Window cultural centre in Peshawar has produced a special Pashto song set for formal release on May 20 in Islamabad.
The song, penned by renowned poet Professor Dr. Abaseen Yousafzai, has been described as a timeless piece of poetry celebrating the enduring bond between the two nations.
The track is directed by prominent journalist and China Window Administrator Amjad Aziz Malik, with music composed by celebrated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa musician Gohar Jan.
Internationally acclaimed singers Dr. Irfan Khalil and Yamsa Noor have lent their voices to the composition, adding depth and emotional resonance to the tribute.
The music video was filmed at the historic site of Takht-i-Bahi, an ancient Gandhara civilisation centre that holds deep cultural and historical significance in connection with China.
Additional scenes were shot in a more than 142-year-old traditional house in Peshawar city, symbolising the continuity and strength of a friendship that has spanned over seven decades.
The lyrics weave a poetic narrative in which a girl compares a Pakistani youth to a prince, while the young man describes her as a fairy from China, both expressing their emotions and mutual bond through evocative imagery.
The formal launching ceremony is scheduled for May 20 in Islamabad. Distinguished personalities from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the federal capital, and the Chinese Embassy are expected to attend the event.
