Saudi FM Attends Extraordinary Meeting of GCC Foreign Ministers in Oman

MUSCAT: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, attended the 43rd Extraordinary Session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council on recent developments in Gaza and its surroundings, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

According to the SPA, the extraordinary meeting was chaired by Foreign Minister of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, who is also Chairman of the GCC’s current meeting, with the participation of the GCC Ministers for Foreign Affairs and GCC chief Jassim Albudaiwi.

During the session, the participants discussed the recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the escalation of violence and indiscriminate Israeli bombing of residential neighbourhoods in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injury of thousands of civilian populations, and the immediate and serious challenges confronting the region as a result.

The session was also attended by Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati, the SPA added.
