RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on Wednesday received the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, and discussed ways to support efforts to enhance global security and stability.
During the meeting at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, the two sides reviewed the latest regional and international developments, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The meeting was attended by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and National Security Advisor; and Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Wasil, the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
From the United Nations side, the meeting was attended by Miguel Moratinos, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and High Representative for the Alliance of Civilisations, and Miguel Graça, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Meanwhile, the Crown Prince also received Eritrea’s President Isaias Afwerki on Wednesday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, prospects for joint cooperation in various fields, and ways to develop them. They also discussed a number of issues of common interest.
Senior officials from both sides were also present in the meeting.
