Arab Artist Al-Howede told Arab News that the presence of Saudi artists in international art events enhances their value globally.
The Bienalsur is the first world-travelling multipolar art biennale and will be collaborating with different museums, cultural centers and universities across the world during 2023.
Saudi Arabia became the first country from the Middle Eastern region to organize the Bienalsur at the National Museum in Riyadh in 2019. This year it will be the third collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Bienalsur.
Diana Wechsler, the exhibition’s artistic director and curator praising the presence of Saudi artists at the event said Saudi Arabia was the first country in the Middle East to join the Bienalsur network.
The Bienalsur looks to create new ways of exchange by connecting artists from different cultures.
During the event the works will be displayed in 170 venues in 70 cities internationally, concluding the 2023 showcase at the University of Fine Arts in Tokyo, Japan in December.
