RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has climbed to 13th place among the world’s largest recipients of foreign direct investment, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing position as a major global investment destination.
According to the latest World Investment Report issued by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Saudi Arabia rose from 17th place in 2024 to 13th in 2025.
The report showed that net foreign direct investment inflows into the Kingdom reached $32.6 billion in 2025, compared with $21.3 billion in 2024. This represents a year-on-year increase of nearly 53 percent.
Saudi Arabia’s total inward foreign direct investment stock also increased to $293.3 billion, underlining continued investor confidence in the Kingdom’s economic transformation.
UNCTAD linked the strong performance to sustained investment in key sectors aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, including energy, infrastructure, technology, advanced industries and logistics.
The achievement highlights Saudi Arabia’s steady progress in building a more competitive and attractive investment environment.
Over the past five years, the Kingdom has introduced major reforms through the National Investment Strategy, aimed at improving market access, simplifying procedures for investors and supporting long-term economic growth.
Saudi Arabia’s latest rise in the global ranking reinforces its role as a leading investment hub in the Middle East and a fast-growing destination for international capital.
