RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned a series of Iranian attacks targeting Kuwaiti border posts, an offshore drilling platform, two Emirati oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as Jordan, Bahrain and Qatar, describing them as a threat to regional security and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Tuesday, reiterated its categorical rejection of Iran’s violations of the sovereignty of these brotherly countries and its continued destabilising conduct that undermines the security and stability of the region, in violation of the principles of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, the Charter of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the principles of good-neighborliness.

The Kingdom held Iran responsible for the consequences of its continued blatant attacks and calls on Iran to immediately cease these violations to preserve the security, stability, and safety of the region.

It further reiterated its full solidarity with the targeted countries in all measures they take to safeguard their sovereignty.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia also condemned repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as on Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Jordan.

The Cabinet affirmed its complete rejection of Iran’s continued destabilising behaviour in the region, accusing Tehran of violating international law, the charters of the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as the principles of good neighbourliness.

Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, chaired the Cabinet session held in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Strait of Hormuz is open to all ship traffic except for Iran: Trump
US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz was open to all commercial shipping except vessels linked to Iran, announcing a “full blockade” on ships travelling to or from Iranian ports or carrying Iranian cargo.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform on Tuesday, Trump credited the US military for keeping the strategic waterway open amid US-Iran escalation.
“Oil is flowing like never before, thanks to the awesome Power of the United States Military,” Trump wrote.

“The Strait of Hormuz is open to ALL Ship traffic except for Iran,” Trump said, adding that the United States would impose “a FULL Blockade, but only on Ships coming to and from Iranian ports, or carrying anything have to do with Iranian cargo.”
Trump said he had decided to replace a proposed 20 percent US reimbursement fee with trade and investment agreements.
The US president also accused Iran’s leadership of pursuing a destructive course and reiterated Washington’s position that Tehran would not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
