Saudi Air Defences Intercept Two Drones Over Riyadh

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence said Wednesday that air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed two unmanned aerial vehicles over the capital, Riyadh.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the drones were detected early and neutralized before posing any threat to civilians or critical infrastructure.

Major General Turki Al-Malki, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defence, announced that both drones were detected early and neutralized before they could pose any risk to civilian populations or critical infrastructure.

He emphasized that Saudi air defense systems remain on high alert and are fully equipped to respond to any hostile activity.

The rapid response demonstrates the effectiveness of Saudi Arabia’s integrated defense systems, which combine surveillance, tracking, and interception technologies.

Military officials emphasized that such operations are conducted with precision to minimize potential collateral damage.

The Ministry also reaffirmed its stance against acts that threaten regional stability, noting that any aggression will be met with decisive action.
