TEHRAN: The Prime Minister of Russia arrived in Tehran on Monday for high-level talks focusing on strengthening ties between the two nations.
Iranian state media reported that he was accorded a warm welcome by Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref upon arrival at Saad Abad Historical Cultural Complex.
This is the first visit of the Russian Prime Minister to Tehran after the beginning of the new government in Iran.
Mikhail Mishustin is heading a high-ranking delegation of Russian officials and heads of economic organizations. He is expected to have meetings with high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Earlier, in a statement released by the Russian government, it was announced that Mishustin will hold talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref. The agenda will cover a broad range of topics, focusing on enhancing cooperation in trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian efforts.
“It is planned to discuss the full range of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian spheres,” Russia said.
