KARACHI: Quetta Gladiators secured a commanding six-wicket victory over defending champions Lahore Qalandars in the 26th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the National Bank Stadium, chasing down a modest target of 135 runs with 22 deliveries to spare.

Lahore Qalandars innings: Batting collapse restricts total

Opting to bat first, Lahore Qalandars struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 134 in 19.5 overs. Fakhar Zaman provided a brisk start with 20 off 11 balls, but wickets fell at regular intervals.

Haseebullah Khan top-scored with a patient 33 off 37 deliveries, while Usama Mir provided late fireworks with 22 off just seven balls, including three sixes. However, the total proved insufficient.

Usman Tariq and Jahandad Khan were the pick of Quetta’s bowlers, claiming three wickets each, while Alzarri Joseph contributed two crucial breakthroughs.

Quetta Gladiators innings: Rossouw anchors successful chase

In response, Quetta lost early wickets, with Shamyl Hussain departing for a duck and captain Saud Shakeel falling for just 1. However, Rilee Rossouw steadied the innings with an unbeaten 60 off 49 balls, featuring five boundaries and two sixes. Hasan Nawaz provided aggressive support with 49 off 32 deliveries, striking six fours and two sixes.
