LAHORE: The seventh match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United was called off without a ball being bowled after persistent rain at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday.

Rain began shortly before the toss, which was scheduled for 6:30 PM local time, and intensified as time progressed. Despite prompt action by the ground staff to cover the field and later attempts to make it playable, the conditions did not improve sufficiently. As a result, the match was abandoned 30 minutes before the official cut-off time required for a five-over contest.

With the fixture abandoned, both teams were awarded one point each. This outcome lifted Zalmi to second place in the standings, moving them ahead of Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans, who now occupy third and fourth positions respectively.

Islamabad United, who had earlier lost their opening match of the tournament to Multan Sultans, secured their first point of the campaign. This allowed them to move up to sixth place, overtaking RawalPindiz in the standings.

Karachi Kings continue to lead the table with four points, having won both of their opening matches. Quetta Gladiators sit in fifth place with two points, while Hyderabad Kingsmen remain at the bottom after consecutive defeats.

Zalmi will next face Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 8 in Karachi, while Islamabad United are set to take on Quetta Gladiators on April 4 at the same venue.
