ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to providing universal access to quality health services, emphasizing the importance of addressing Tuberculosis (TB) as a public health priority.
In a message marking World TB Day 2024, Prime Minister Sharif lauded the efforts of all stakeholders engaged in the fight against TB and reaffirmed the government’s determination to support initiatives aimed at eradicating the disease and enhancing the well-being of citizens.
Recognizing TB as a significant global health challenge that causes immense suffering and loss of lives annually, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the need to prioritize TB elimination on the global health agenda and allocate resources accordingly. He emphasized the collective responsibility to leverage innovation, research, and technology to accelerate progress towards a TB-free world.
While striving to ensure equitable health services for citizens, Prime Minister Sharif expressed appreciation for the role of the private sector and global partners in combating TB.
He called upon all stakeholders, including organizations, healthcare professionals, and individuals, to unite efforts in ending TB by strengthening healthcare systems, enhancing access to quality diagnosis and treatment, and raising awareness about TB prevention and control measures.
Prime Minister Sharif pledged to collaborate relentlessly, leaving no room for complacency, in the shared mission to eliminate TB from Pakistan, emphasizing the imperative of unified action in achieving this goal.
