ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi after unfurling the national flag made one solemn statement and that was the road peace and prosperity lies in following the basic principles of founding father Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Unity, faith and discipline following these three will take Pakistan to heights that it is destined to achieve.
President Alvi urged all stakeholders for steering country towards greater goals the path lies in forgiveness. Addressing the nation on Monday he said only unity can make the nation march towards glory that is the final destination. A developed Pakistan that hold its head held high in world community.
President Alvi stressed the need for reviewing the core values of Islam as deviation results in complications besides intensifies the existing predicament.
He stressed the need for all politicians and other stake holders to follow the path of compassion and forgiveness and should draw their motivation from teaching of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
“Nepotism alone has intensified the situation, what we are faced with today and breaking away from this and promoting only meritocracy, social justice will bring about the desired result in both social and economic order,” said Dr Arif Alvi adding, “ Education plays key role and with this only we can bring the change in taking Pakistan to new heights as it is of paramount importance.”
Pakistan has 27 million children who are out of school. President asked the opulent class to play their part as with their assistance health and poverty can be addressed and these children deserve a chance.
He stressed the need for active participation of women in economy as they form a little over half the population of Pakistan and with their involvement in economy Pakistan is bound to get better results in growth rate.
President Arif Alvi lauded Quaid’s role in changing the road map of sub-continent with untiring efforts and the sacrifices made by the ancestors in achieving what is now called Pakistan.
He also highlighted the role played by Pakistan in combating ‘war on terror’ with 100,000 lives sacrificed in bringing about the peace.
He also pointed out at the west on Islamophobia and hoped with better understanding the world will see the truth in reality what Islam in practicality portrays.
President Arif Alvi besides challenges faced by Pakistan highlighted the impending danger of global warming. Kashmir, Palestine and United Nations role and Pakistan principled stance on the matter was also shared during the speech.
Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani and Speaker of National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf amongst others were also present during the ceremony.
