Earlier, Pakistan’s Senate unanimously adopted a landmark resolution commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, reaffirming what officials described as an “iron-clad” partnership between the two countries.
The resolution, titled “Re-affirming China-Pakistan Friendship and Brotherhood”, was moved by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during a Senate session in Islamabad.
Addressing lawmakers, Dar congratulated the governments and people of both nations on the milestone anniversary, saying relations between Islamabad and Beijing had continued to strengthen over the past seven decades on the basis of mutual trust, respect and shared strategic interests.
He said the Pakistan-China partnership had become a key pillar for regional peace, economic development and stability, adding that Islamabad remained committed to expanding cooperation across political, economic, strategic and people-to-people sectors.
The resolution described the bilateral relationship as “historic, time-tested and iron-clad”, noting that it had endured changing regional and international circumstances through the support of successive generations of leadership in both countries.
