People in Occupied Kashmir to Hold Demo Against BJP on Oct 10

ISLAMABAD: Multiple political parties in the Indian-occupied region of Jammu and Kashmir have jointly decided to hold a peaceful protest demonstration against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 10.

This decision was reached during a meeting held in Jammu, which Farooq Abdullah, the President of the National Conference, chaired.

Farooq Abdullah, addressing reporters, emphasized that the democratic rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing challenges. He stated, “We have all agreed to organize a peaceful protest on Oct 10, and we are obtaining the necessary permission from the divisional commissioner.”

Among the prominent leaders who attended the meeting were Mehbooba Mufti, the President of the People’s Democratic Party, Amreek Singh Reen, the General Secretary of the same party, Vikar Rasool Wani, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Congress, Raman Bhalla, the Working President of the party, M Y Tarigami, a leader from the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M), Gulchain Singh Charak, the Chief of Dogra Sadar Sabha, and Manish Sahni, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Shiv Sena (UBT).

Other participants included Muzaffar Shah, the Senior Vice President of Awami National Conference, Rattan Lal Gupta and Hasnain Masoodi from the National Conference, Sunil Dimple, the President of Mission Statehood, and Sheikh Abdul Rehman, a former Member of Indian Parliament.

Additionally, representatives from various other political parties, including the Communist Party of India (CPI), Akali Dal (Amritsar), and the Internationalist Democratic Party, were also present at the meeting. —APP
