Pakistan’s Prime Minister Strongly Condemns Missile and Drone Attacks on UAE Civilian Infrastructure

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday urged strict adherence to the ceasefire following missile and drone attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Sharif strongly condemned missile and drone attacks and expressed full solidarity with the leadership and people of the UAE.

The premier said Pakistan stands firmly with the government and citizens of the UAE during what he described as a difficult time.

“Pakistan stands firmly with our Emirati brothers and sisters, as well as with the government of the UAE, at this difficult time,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in a post on X.

Sharif specifically conveyed support for UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reaffirming close ties between the two countries.

The prime minister also underscored the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, stressing that it must be upheld and respected to create space for diplomacy.

“It is absolutely essential that the ceasefire be upheld and respected to allow the necessary diplomatic space for dialogue leading to enduring peace and stability in the region,” he said.

He said sustained dialogue remains essential to achieving durable peace and stability in the region, amid rising tensions, marked by recent attacks.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also condemned the missile and drone attacks on the UAE.

“We stand with the brotherly people of the UAE and express full solidarity with His Highness the President, Mohamed Bin Zayed, His Highness Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed  and the leadership and people of the UAE,” he said in a post on X.

“Pakistan will continue making efforts for lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond,” he said.

Pakistan and the UAE share longstanding political, economic and strategic relations, with both countries frequently coordinating on regional security and diplomatic initiatives.
