Addressing a Seminar on Agriculture and Food Security, the prime minister said the Gulf states are ready to invest in Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) which will enhance agriculture productivity in the country.

He hoped that the initiative would attract investment to the tune of $30-50 billion in the next four to five years. This would also provide employment opportunities to 4 million people.

The premier also expressed hope that Pakistan’s agriculture economy will revive within two years.

He said that it was the government’s responsibility to provide a conducive environment to the farmers by provision of quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. The farmers should also receive the due price of their crops.
