Pakistan-Turkiye Resolve to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

KARACHI: Pakistan and Turkiye expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through close coordination and engagement using established bilateral mechanisms.

This decision was reached in a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz. Both the leaders discussed a range of topics, including regional affairs and mutual interests, following their joint launch of the PNS Tariq Corvette at a Karachi shipyard earlier today.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the robust bilateral cooperation between the two countries and emphasized the need to transform their brotherly relations into mutually beneficial trade and economic ties.

He highlighted the importance of fostering people-to-people connections and collaboration in various sectors, such as research and development, information technology, energy, infrastructure, food security, tourism, and mining.

Strengthening Pakistan-Turkiye Ties

Earlier today, at the launching ceremony of the Pakistan Navy’s MILGEM-Class Ship PNS Tariq, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged Pakistan and Turkiye to further enhance their strategic cooperation and explore joint ventures in different fields. He also praised Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his outstanding victory in the recent polls.

The MILGEM project serves as a symbol of enduring collaboration between Pakistan and Turkiye in the maritime domain.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the shared commonality of faith, heritage, and civilization between Pakistan and Turkiye.
