ISLAMABAD: Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said Pakistan has received a shipment carrying 45,000 tons of diesel and 10,000 tons of jet fuel from Kuwait under special approvals granted during regional tensions and disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz.
During a meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi, the minister thanked Kuwait for facilitating the safe dispatch of the vessel Khairpur, which successfully reached Pakistan amid heightened regional uncertainty.
Malik said the shipment helped ensure continuity in Pakistan’s fuel supplies during a challenging period, adding that Islamabad remained committed to regional peace and stability.
The Kuwaiti envoy appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace in the region and said Islamabad’s responsible role had enhanced its international standing.
Both sides also discussed expanding cooperation in petroleum refining and strategic fuel storage projects.
