ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces killed three more terrorists during the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, taking the total number of terrorists killed in intelligence-based counterterrorism operations across the province since 5 July to 129, according to security sources.
The total number of terrorists killed in the Operation Shaban has reached 91, security sources said.
The operation is being jointly carried out by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police following the terrorist attack in the Mangi Dam area, in which several cops were martyred on July 7.

According to security sources, the operation includes both aerial and ground actions targeting terrorist hideouts, with forces successfully striking several locations.
Officials said a total of 129 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations conducted across Balochistan since July 5.
They added that Operation Shaban will continue across the province until the “last terrorist” is eliminated.

Earlier this month, at least 42 people, including security personnel and civilians, were martyred in three terrorist attacks in Balochistan.

ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said last week that India-backed terrorists attacked the Mangi checkpoint, where police personnel put up strong resistance and killed 15 terrorists during the initial engagement.
Pakistan witnessed a surge in terror activities, particularly in its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban came into power.
In response, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, targeting terrorist hideouts across the border.
Despite several rounds of talks, both countries have been unable to reach an agreement, largely due to the Afghan Taliban regime’s reluctance to take action against terrorist outfits.
