ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia discussed ways to strengthen their strategic economic partnership, accelerate Saudi investment, and expand cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and economic reforms.
The views were discussed during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb and his Saudi counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, in Riyadh, an official statement said on Sunday.
Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Leghari also attended the meeting, underscoring the importance both countries attach to collaboration in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Pakistan-Saudi Bilateral Finance Group meeting, where the two sides discussed the progress of ongoing economic engagement and exchanged views on expanding cooperation in finance, investment, fiscal reforms and development initiatives.

According to the statement, the discussions focused on strengthening the longstanding strategic economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, accelerating Saudi investment in Pakistan, and enhancing cooperation in key sectors including energy, infrastructure and economic reforms.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have substantially deepened their economic engagement over the past two years through frequent high-level exchanges and the work of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council and the Bilateral Finance Group.
Saudi Arabia remains one of Pakistan’s key economic partners, extending financial support, investment commitments and cooperation in areas including energy security and economic development.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is currently in Riyadh to attend a meeting of the Bilateral Finance Group, where he is expected to hold a series of discussions aimed at advancing Pakistan’s economic priorities and further strengthening cooperation with Saudi financial institutions and government officials.
