ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom.
“The distinguished journey of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in progress and transformation represents a source of pride and admiration not only for the Saudi people, but also for Pakistan,” Prime Minister Sharif said in a post on X.
“Under the dynamic leadership and insightful vision of my dear brother, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to achieve remarkable steps toward further prosperity, modernisation, and innovation,” he said.
Prime Minister Sharif added that Pakistan takes immense pride in its historic and deep-rooted brotherhood with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, founded on shared faith, mutual trust and the strong bonds between the two peoples.

He said under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, this enduring brotherhood is evolving into a stronger and more resilient strategic partnership, built on a shared commitment to peace, security and the unity of the Islamic Ummah.
The two countries have also signed the Joint Strategic Defence Agreement and the Joint Defence Agreement for the Honoured Makkah.
Pakistan condemns Houthi attacks against Kingdom
“On this occasion, I once again strongly condemn Pakistan’s condemnation in the strongest terms of the recent Houthi attacks against the Kingdom, especially the disgraceful attempt to target the city of the Honoured Mecca with a drone attack,” he said.
He added that any threat to the sanctity and security of the Two Holy Mosques deeply wounds the feelings of Muslims around the world. Pakistan stands firmly, shoulder to shoulder, alongside the Kingdom in protecting its sovereignty, security, and the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites.
“As we celebrate the Saudi National Day, I pray to God that the brotherhood between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to grow and flourish, becoming more entrenched and stronger day by day,” he said.
Saudi Arabia is celebrating its National Day today, with people across the Kingdom marking the occasion through cultural events, public celebrations and displays of national pride.
The annual celebration commemorates the unification of the Kingdom and highlights its rich heritage, achievements and aspirations for the future.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia maintain close bilateral relations, with regular high-level diplomatic exchanges and cooperation in a range of political, economic, security and strategic areas. The latest agreement comes amid a series of steps taken by Islamabad and Riyadh to deepen bilateral cooperation.
On August 7, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye signed a joint defence agreement aimed at strengthening collective security, enhancing defence cooperation and promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
Later in August, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also agreed to increase Pakistani agricultural and food exports to the Gulf kingdom to $3 billion. The agreement was reached during a visit to Pakistan by a Saudi delegation led by Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Fadley.
Saudi Arabia also remains Pakistan’s largest source of remittances and hosts more than 2.5 million Pakistani expatriates, highlighting the depth of economic and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
