RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation and steps to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, the military’s media wing said.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister called on Field Marshal Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said.
Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nassar Abdul Rahman J. Al-Mutairi, accompanied the Foreign Minister during the meeting with Field Marshal Munir.
“During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and steps to further strengthen bilateral cooperation were discussed,” ISPR stated.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support, its constructive contribution toward regional peace and stability and the deep-rooted fraternal ties shared between the two nations.
Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to Kuwait, emphasising that both countries share a common vision for regional peace and prosperity.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister arrived in Pakistan on Monday on an official visit.

Pakistan, Kuwait agree to institutionalise bilateral cooperation
Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to further institutionalise bilateral cooperation through enhanced institutional linkages and regular high-level exchanges.
This understanding was reached during delegation-level talks led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Islamabad on Wednesday, a Foreign Office statement said.
“The two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Kuwait bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, energy, labour, agriculture, information technology, health, mining and minerals, defence, and the broader economic partnership,” it said.

The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination and cooperation at multilateral forums on issues of mutual interest.
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister thanked the government and people of Pakistan for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support to Kuwait during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mutually beneficial partnership
Pakistan’s Deputy PM Dar reaffirmed the country’s commitment to its longstanding brotherly ties with Kuwait, highlighting Islamabad’s desire to further strengthen and expand the mutually beneficial partnership across a wide range of sectors.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest, including the situation in the Middle East and Palestine. The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister and Kuwait’s Foreign Minister held a bilateral meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed regional developments.
The two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of Pakistan–Kuwait bilateral relations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the longstanding brotherly partnership, the Foreign Office said.

They also held in-depth discussions on regional and international developments, with particular focus on the evolving situation in the Middle East.
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday evening for talks on bilateral ties and regional developments.
Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister was received by Zahid Hussain, Additional Secretary (Middle East), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Foreign Office statement said.
The visit is being carried out at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
“During the visit, the two sides will hold talks covering the full spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest,” the statement said.
The visit reflects the enduring fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait, underpinned by shared history, mutual trust and strong cooperation across multiple sectors.
