NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has suggested the adoption of an action plan by the Group of 77 and China for introducing reforms in the global financial architecture to help the developing nations, local media reported on Friday.

The Minister recommended the formation of mechanisms within the UN to monitor and execute the reforms. Jalil Abbas Jilani outlined Islamabad’s views in an interactive debate on ‘A path for the reform of the international financial architecture’ at the annual meeting of FMs of Group of 77 and China, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press statement.
The Minister further said that over the past 3 years, the economies of the developing nations had been devastated by the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic; climate change, and proliferating conflicts.
