STOCKHOLM: The Embassy of Pakistan in Sweden organized an online event to mark ‘Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir’ (Kashmir Exploitation Day) denouncing the continuous siege, violence, and human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by the occupying Indian forces.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Sweden, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed, called upon the international community to raise their voice against India’s atrocities and pressurize the country to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
The event, attended by Pakistani and Kashmiri communities residing in Sweden and Finland, began with a presentation of a documentary on Kashmir. Ambassador Dr. Zahoor Ahmed highlighted the illegality of India’s unilateral revocation of the special autonomous status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on August 5, 2019, and emphasized that it also led to the lifting of restrictions on demographic changes in the region.
India’s State Terrorist in Kashmir
During the gathering, participants condemned India’s actions and described the abrogation of Article 370 as an act of terrorism against the Muslim Kashmiri people. They expressed their commitment to continue raising their voices in support of the Kashmiri freedom movement.
The event saw the participation of representatives from local political parties in Sweden, officials from the Kashmir Council Sweden, and Barrister Amjad Malik from Great Britain. The attendees also concluded the ceremony with a rendition of a Kashmiri national song and a special prayer for the martyrs of Kashmir.
Ambassador Dr. Zahoor Ahmed’s call for international attention to the human rights situation in Occupied Kashmir underscores Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to advocating for the rights and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The online event served as a platform to shed light on the plight of Kashmiris and urged the global community to stand against the atrocities perpetrated by India in the region.
