ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Egypt have expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation in Palestine and denounced the continued Israeli military actions in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Badr Abdelatty, in a telephone call, slammed escalating settler violence and repeated violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.
“They underscored the urgent need for an immediate end to all hostilities, unhindered humanitarian assistance, and full respect for international law,” the Foreign Office said in a statement on Wednesday.

The two ministers also discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to coordinate diplomatic efforts in support of the Palestinian people.
They also exchanged views on the evolving regional situation, underscoring the need for restraint, dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and maintain regional peace and stability.
Egypt supports full implementation of Gaza plan
Minister Plenipotentiary of the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the UN, Mohamed Helal, on Tuesday said his country is coordinating with the United States, Qatar, and Turkiye to support the full implementation of US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, including all its stages.
Speaking during a Security Council session on the Palestinian issue and the situation in Gaza, Helal said the conflict was at a crossroads between an opportunity to end decades of violence and risks that could undermine that prospect.
He accused Israel of pursuing unilateral and escalatory measures across the occupied Palestinian territories, saying they were weakening the chances for peace.
Egypt condemned the Israeli efforts to undermine the Palestinian cause through settlement expansion, settler violence, attempts to displace Palestinians, repeated ceasefire violations, and restrictions on humanitarian aid and recovery efforts. It also condemned attacks on humanitarian organisations and UN agencies, particularly the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA.
“There is no Israeli sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its holy sites,” he said, reaffirming Egypt’s support for Jordan’s custodianship of Jerusalem’s Muslim and Christian holy sites and for preserving their historic and legal status.

It may be recalled that last week Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the Israeli escalation at Al Aqsa Mosque, particularly the continued mass settlers’ incursions led by extremist Israeli ministers, into Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli forces.

In a joint statement, they stressed that these provocative and unacceptable actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law, the relevant United Nations resolutions, and the historical and legal status quo at the holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem.
The Foreign Ministers of these countries further deplored and condemned in the strongest terms the illegal and extremist acts of incitement, incursions’ mobilisation calls, and violence by Israeli extremist ministers and groups.
They warned that these provocative actions fuel hatred and extremism, and obstruct efforts to advance a just and lasting peace on the basis of the two-State solution.
They stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
