“Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the brotherly people and government of the UAE,” the statement said, underscoring Islamabad’s concern over the incident and its potential implications for regional peace and security.
The Foreign Office further emphasised that any deliberate targeting of nuclear facilities constitutes a grave violation of international law. It said such actions breach international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and the fundamental principles governing nuclear safety and security.
The statement also referenced global nuclear governance frameworks, noting that such attacks undermine the established norms and principles enshrined in the statutes and resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which are designed to ensure the safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy worldwide.
Reiterating its position, Pakistan stressed that nuclear installations must never be subjected to hostile action under any circumstances, warning that such incidents risk severe environmental, humanitarian, and geopolitical consequences.
The condemnation comes amid growing international concern over the security of critical energy infrastructure in conflict-sensitive regions, with calls for strict adherence to international conventions protecting nuclear facilities.
