HANGZHOU: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is spending a busy day in the Chinese city of Hangzhou as part of his official visit to China, with a series of engagements focused on investment, technology and economic cooperation.
The prime minister is scheduled to participate in the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference, which will highlight opportunities in information technology and telecommunications, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and the agriculture sector.
During the conference, Pakistani and Chinese companies are expected to sign and exchange several agreements and memorandums of understanding aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and attracting investment in key sectors.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also address the gathering and outline Pakistan’s vision for expanding economic collaboration with China. As part of his engagements in Hangzhou, the prime minister will hold meetings with heads of prominent Chinese companies to explore new avenues of partnership and investment.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also scheduled to visit the headquarters of the Chinese technology giant Alibaba Group. During the visit, agreements on cooperation between the Government of Pakistan and the company are expected to be signed.
The prime minister will address a ceremony at the company’s headquarters as well. Later in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will conclude his visit to Hangzhou and depart for Beijing to continue his official engagements in China.
