ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have signed multiple agreements to expand cooperation in education, skills development, technology transfer, innovation and youth empowerment, following a high-level visit by Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan to Beijing.

The visit, held as part of efforts to implement understandings reached during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent trip to China, sought to create new opportunities for Pakistani youth through institutional partnerships, vocational training and digital innovation.

The agreements provide a framework for establishing joint training and research centres, enhancing cooperation in curriculum development, vocational education, technology transfer, innovation ecosystems and student exchange programmes.

The chairman attended a high-level seminar at China Agricultural University, engaging with heads of leading Chinese institutions to explore collaboration in higher education, agricultural sciences and youth development. Discussions focused on technology transfer, joint research initiatives and student mobility programmes.

During a visit to the College of Engineering at Beijing University of Agriculture, both sides expressed a strong commitment to expanding academic and institutional partnerships.

In another key engagement, Rana Mashhood met senior leadership of Alibaba Group to discuss promoting entrepreneurship, e-commerce, digital skills and sustainable economic opportunities for Pakistani youth through Alibaba’s digital ecosystem.

The chairman also attended a convocation ceremony in Beijing, encouraging Pakistani graduates to use their education and international exposure to contribute to Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

Speaking on the occasion, Rana Mashhood said the visit reflected the shared vision of both countries to deepen cooperation in education, innovation and skills development for future generations.
